The Digital Layout Editor will be responsible for collaborating with the Creative Director to assist in website and PDF formatting. Staff editors are responsible for the grammatical, stylistic, and bibliographic consistency of the blog. Thorough proofreading and formatting corrections are necessary and must remain consistent with UMN-ULR expectations. Content revisions and additions are also necessary. You will collaborate with one other Staff Editor to ensure triweekly publication goals are met.
Associate Editors are responsible for editing blog content to ensure accuracy, stylistic clarity, and writing choices. You will work closely with writers to ensure all edits are made in a timely manner. Timeliness, attention to detail, and a deadline-oriented nature is critical in this position. Writing and editing experience is preferred but not required. In this position, you will collaborate with two other Associate Editors to ensure triweekly publication goals are met. As a Staff Writer, your responsibilities include attending one pitch meeting every three weeks, submitting drafts in a timely format, and collaborating with editors to make revisions. Staff Writers can choose to contribute to our longform issues, blogs, or political review.
